I wish I had a cool answer for why I became a County Medic. I just enjoy helping people and there’s no better way to do that than working here. I’ve been a Soldier, Firefighter, Paramedic, and now Sheriff’s Deputy. Nowhere else have I found an adrenaline rush as pure as this one. I get to go home every day knowing I’ve made a difference. I can’t ask for anything more from a career.

I just started training in the Medic Division in January. It’s been a wild ride. There’s a lot of anxiety among everyone in healthcare and emergency services. I just show up and do my best every day. I think it’s a waste of time worrying about things that you can’t influence or change. I can’t control the spread of this virus, if it infects the people I care about, or how other people react to it. I can show up and put on my PPE and deal with the issue in front of me. The only thing I can truly control are my actions and thoughts. The people I work with have helped me more than they know. As Red-Green always said ‘Remember, I’m pulling for ya. We’re all in this together!
